Well it’s our first week of us opening our doors to you all 🥰 I just want to thank everyone who’s been so supportive and brilliant during this last lockdown, it’s been a long one that’s for sure!! Our opening hours will be Monday - Saturday 10 to 5pm, with Wednesdays being til 1pm, then appointments in the afternoon for those who want to book! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like appointments out of hours (so you can have a browse to make up for all this lost time). I cannot wait to open the door finally!! Stay safe and happy knitting
I just want to say thank you to everyone for all the support and love over the last few months, it has really been an odd and difficult time for everyone but you've all kept me motivated and knitting!
With the new government guide lines we are able to reopen on the 15th of June. Having read all the guidelines and advice possible we have come to the decision to re open and to do so very carefully and we will see how it goes and make changes to our opening hours / distancing as we go along.
To start with we'll be opening 10am til 1pm Monday to Saturday (we will be closed all day on Wednesdays) and only 1 person at a time. Upon entering we will ask everyone to use the hand sanitiser at the front of the shop and then keep a 2m distance from myself. After each person leaves I will be cleaning down all door handles, card machines and any surfaces touched.
We will also be doing appointments in the afternoons for those who want to know they won't have to wait to enter the shop. These will be 30 minutes appointments from 1.15pm till 4pm.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch, to book appointments either email firstname.lastname@example.org, facebook us at Ippikin, and call 01952 728371 (leave a message as I will be checking the answerphone).
Remember that if you are not ready to leave the house we are still available for mail order or Facetime appointments to give virtual tours of the shop and help you virtually shop!
Payments : Contactless payments is our preferred method, but we are still accepting cash and normal card payments too.
Any returns will be kept to the side for a minimum of 48 hours and we ask you to have it in a bag ready for us to store in the back.
Again thank you for all your love and support throughout and can't wait to see you all very soon. Stay safe and carry on knitting - Molly x
We've got lots going on but I know most importantly...
We're having a sale!
Just a little taster of what will be on sale over the two days...
There's going to be up to 50% off some lines of yarn, patterns, books and kits.
It's official we're FULL.
We have some good news and some bad news... the shop is full to the brim and we’re struggling to work out places for new stock (the bad, but really it’s good news 😂) and this means we’re gonna have to have a sale. Opening hours of 10-5 on the Friday then 10-4 on the Saturday (allowing us time for a massive rearrange). There’s going to be books, yarn, patterns, kits and sample garments. Date for the diary everyone 😉
We've also got some new workshops available
For more information regarding the workshops take a look at out events and workshop section or on our facebook page under events. There will be...
Learn to knit (starting with a hat!)
Learn to amigurumi
Learn to crochet (granny squares)
Learn to moss stitch crochet
Happy knitting and crocheting everyone!
I’m super happy to announce that just before Christmas we were was asked to feature as focus retailer for Autumn/Winter 2018 T Rowan.
This really has come as such an honour, all the hard work and support everyone has given has paid off - to all our loyal and lovely customers thank you so much! I suspect this is all down to Katie, our Rowan rep, meeting you all and seeing how much of a community we’ve made Ippikin at our Rowan events. Both Rowan events in 2018 were such a success, it hopefully means we can have lots more and be even more involved with our favourite yarn company.
Please take a look in the Rowan newsletter to hear more about our story and how I came to have my dream job. I’ll attach our article, but the newsletter is so worth having a read of for all yarn news and inspiration.
As some of you may know, I have recently taken over Ippikins. Having worked in the magical shop for 2 years, I couldn't resist staying here when Lesley and Paul decided to retire.
With all this I hope to keep the essence of Ippikin, being in Much Wenlock for nearly 13 years now, everyone loves it and wouldn't want it any other way! I will be trying to make Ippikin more of a social hub - who doesn't want to combine knitting with copious amounts of cake and chatting.
In this change over (it's not even been 2 months yet), I will try and do as much as I can to live up to Paul and Lesley's legacy. We're going to be having more events, workshops and I'm going to be starting a regular newsletter to keep you all updated. New yarns, new books and patterns - the lot I hope. If you have any suggestions or even questions, don't hesitate to get in contact or pop in. Myself, Moyra and June are still here and hopefully the odd appearance from Paul as well.
Happy knitting everyone,
